Drawing Music :: Happy Apple

Yesterday, I left my house to draw Shakespeare in the park, but ended up drawing local jazz festival instead. All thanks to the rain. And my friend Sasha. 5 hours spent, 3 venues in Greenwich Village visited, 5 bands heard.

Here's some drawings of our favorites from the second night of Undead Jazz Festival, Happy Apple. "They talk to me", said Sasha about their music. This Minneapolis trio was vibrant and theatrical. The music had elements of 70's improvisational jazz that really did sound like talking. And, at times, like cursing and blabbering ... with occasional confessions, gossip, bragging and colloquy. Such great, eloquent show!
