Also, Sō Percussion is celebrating 25 years–happy anniversary! Thanks for bringing so much beauty into the world! I started drawing Sō's concerts back in 2010! Here's my first reportage from Carnegie Hall!

So Percussion BAM residency continues through May 17th. RUN, don't walk–tickets are still available.

Shakespeare's Henry IV, the NY CLassical Production

It's been a very long time since I went out to draw NY Classical theater's panoramic productions. I was busy being pregnant and being a new mom... And after a very long pause, finally, last week, I went to Battery Park to see the 25th anniversary production of Henry IV. It was as delightful, energetic and exciting as ever! Directed by the one and only Stephen Burdman. Some of my all-time favorite actors were in the play: John Michalsky, Ian Gould, Ian Antal, Nick Salamone. There were also many new phenomenal actors.

I felt anxious going back to life drawing without any warmup. But what I discovered was that drawing is like riding a bicycle: it comes right back. My hands just knew what to do. All I needed was to remind myself to look at the actors and to not judge what's on the page as I was drawing it. I enjoyed it immensely!

Cheers to NY Classical's 25th season and here's to 25 more!

Acadia National Park in Maine | Prints

Prints available for purchase here

Souvenirs from the vacation in Acadia National Park, Maine, a few months back. It was so beautiful there in late August! I made a couple of collages/drawings and thanks to Dana, there is now a timelapse of me sitting on a mountain & cutting paper on a windy day!

Spain!

In the fall of 2019, my partner and I had such a blast in Spain! We began in Granada for a dear friend's wedding, where I drew the Flamenco performance. Then we proceeded to Barcelona. I couldn't wait to visit my beloved Sagrada Familia, for the 3rd time now. First visit happened over a decade ago, on my first solo reportage trip. The second visitation with Gaudi's masterpiece took place during the Urban Sketcher's 4th International symposium.  This time 'round, Sagrada Familia had made significant growth, had acquired many more towers and a start of the 3rd facade.  We visited the church three times during a 5-day stay in Barcelona, and it still felt like it wasn't enough... I have never been inside a more beautiful place. And I can't wait to see it again!
